In Brest, a fire in the Darty store [Vidéos]

This Thursday evening, at 9:02 p.m., a fire broke out in the Darty store in the Kergaradec area, in Brest. The firefighters were called out at 9:02 p.m. Three ton pump vans arrived on the scene, where the large ladder was deployed.

Around twenty firefighters are working to put out the fire. The grinder had to be taken out so that the firefighters were able to enter the reserve where the imposing plume of smoke was emanating.

A high tension cable breaks: no tram in the neighborhood

Another concern, at 9:30 p.m., for the group leader: preventing the flames from reaching the high voltage line (60,000/65,000 volts). At 9:48 p.m., one of the seven high-voltage cables broke. This is that of the Bibus network. Deprived of power, the tram therefore stopped in the neighborhood.

At 10:15 p.m., despite the arrival of fire reinforcements and a fire attacked by two hoses, the fire was gaining ground. A good part of the reserve was engulfed in flames and the rest of the store was under threat.

At 10:30 p.m., 56 firefighters were battling the flames. They come from six fire and rescue centers: Brest, Landerneau, Lannilis, Plabennec, Châteaulin and Morlaix. Thirteen machines were dispatched to the site.

The fire was brought under control at 11:30 p.m.

The fire was brought under control at 11:30 p.m., but residual fires have not yet been completely extinguished. Firefighters are preparing to keep watch for a good part of the night on a store whose reserve has been completely destroyed. The sales area was able to be preserved.

A security perimeter is maintained all night around the store.

The police have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of this incident.
