“Emergency stop”: a Boeing suffers a new incident during takeoff in Senegal

A Boeing plane flying from Senegal to the United States this Saturday suffered an “emergency stop” as it took off.

“In-depth investigations” will be carried out “in order to determine the exact causes” of the incident, according to local authorities.

“No bodily harm” to the passengers was recorded.

New incident for a Boeing. A plane chartered by the Delta company made this Saturday, October 19 a “emergency stop” when he took off from Dakar airport (Senegal), postponing his flight to New York. This did not cause “no bodily harm” for passengers, reassured the Senegalese Ministry of Air Transport.

Incident technique

“The plane, during takeoff, carried out an acceleration maneuver followed by an emergency stop due to a technical incident. The pilot was able to stop the plane safely”the ministry said in a press release. “All 213 passengers on board are safe and sound. They have been taken care of and transported to hotels to ensure their comfort. Their departure for New York is scheduled for Sunday.”

The National Civil Aviation Agency and the Office of Investigation and Analysis of Senegal “will carry out in-depth investigations to determine the exact causes”added the ministry. This incident comes after another at the same airport in May, during which a Boeing 737/300 chartered from a private company, Transair, and operated by the company Air Senegal, left the runway. The incident left 11 injured and caused a temporary closure of the infrastructure.
