The plane, during takeoff, carried out an acceleration maneuver followed by an emergency stop due to a technical incident. The pilot was able to stop the plane safely, informs a press release from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport

“Immediately after the incident, all airport stakeholders gathered around the Secretary General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport to assess the situation,” informs the source.

According to the MITTA press release, “no bodily harm was recorded. The 216 passengers on board, including 3 babies, are all safe. »

“They were taken care of and transported to local hotels to ensure their comfort. Their departure for New York is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday October 20, 2024, at 10 a.m.,” he added.

“To determine the exact causes of this incident, ANACIM will carry out an in-depth investigation and the Bureau of Investigation and Analysis (BEA) will open a technical investigation,” promises MITTA.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport would like to emphasize that instructions have been given to all the airport’s technical teams to guarantee the safety of passengers and ensure the continuity of activities at the airport. »
