A new victim of the “Charlie Hebdo” killings. Simon Fieschi, webmaster of the satirical newspaper and seriously injured during the attack of January 7, 2015, died this Saturday, October 19. He was 41 years old and had suffered a severe disability since the attack

An investigation was opened “in search of the causes of death” and an autopsy was ordered, the prosecutor’s office told franceinfo. For the moment, “the conclusions have not made it possible to determine the cause of death” and “no hypothesis can be favored at this stage”.

While a suicide by Simon Fieschi was initially reported, “there is no element in favor of a voluntary gesture at this stage of the investigations and the causes of death are still currently unknown”, reacted his lawyer, Me Nathalie Senyk with Liberation.

A bullet had hit his spinal cord

“This man who was so seriously injured by the terrorists’ bullets and who, standing up, gave us lessons in humanity,” reacted Matthieu Suc on the social network X, journalist at Mediapart.

Simon Fieschi was the first member of the editorial staff to be shot by the Kouachi brothers when they entered the premises of Charlie Hebdo. A bullet had hit his spinal cord. He had been paralyzed for several months and underwent intense rehabilitation sessions before being able to walk again.

Who is Peter Cherif, veteran of jihad and close to the Kouachi brothers, tried before the special assize court in Paris?
