A woman is dead following a shooting in Brampton, according to Peel Regional Police.
Police say they responded to a call for shots fired at a vehicle near Rutherford South and Selby roads around 6 a.m. Saturday.
The police spokesperson, Richard Chinexplains that shots coming from one vehicle hit another vehicle which was parked with six people inside, including five women.
The combination of bullets fired and shrapnel left several injured.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Another was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A man and a woman were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police believe the attack may have been targeted, says spokesman Richard Chin.

Mr. Chin says the homicide unit is leading the investigation. Initial reports suggest the shooting was a targeted attack.
There is no information on the suspect vehicle at this time.
Numerous uniformed officers will be in the area attempting to obtain surveillance camera footage from local businesses
he specifies.
The spokesperson is also asking anyone with information or surveillance camera footage in the area to contact investigators.
Rutherford Road is currently closed between Glidden and Selby roads.
