the deputy Matthieu Bloch takes legal action after the “criminal” comments of a municipal elected official about the former head of Hamas

The deputy for (UDR), Matthieu Bloch, announced this Saturday, October 19, that he had taken legal action after the comments of the municipal councilor, Ismaël Boudjekada. The latter declared on X, “a hero has died” regarding Hamas leader Yahya Sinouar, killed by the Israeli army this Thursday.

“Criminal” comments. Matthieu Bloch, UDR deputy for the 3rd district of Doubs, indicated this Saturday that he had contacted the public prosecutor of Montbéliard for the comments of Ismaël Boudjekada, former legislative candidate, on the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinouar.

An “offense of glorifying terrorism”

These comments praising the man, considered one of the masterminds of the October 7 attacks which left more than 1,200 dead in Israel, provoked the ire of MP Matthieu Bloch.

“My duty as a parliamentarian requires me to report any offense of which I am aware,” he writes, estimating that by designating the former leader of Hamas by the term “hero”, Ismaël Boudjekada “calls into question the character terrorist of the pogrom of October 7, 2023.”

The UDR deputy considered that these were facts that “unquestionably constituted the offense of glorifying terrorism”. He also recalled that Ismaël Boudjekada had already been convicted at first instance “by the Court on June 21 for the same offense of glorifying terrorism”.

In addition, Matthieu Bloch denounced such behavior on the part of a municipal councilor, representing the French and the State. “Terrorism and anti-Semitism demand an unfailing fight from the elected representatives of the Republic,” he concluded.
