Lhe Feast of Kings has once again kept all its promises for this month of October. For four evenings, the Guînes village hall was transformed into a real living scene from the 16th century, immersing guests in the heart of the sumptuous atmosphere of the Camp du Drap d’Or. And like every year, the event was sold out well before the first performances.
Upon entering the room, visitors were able to take a leap back in time. The decorations meticulously installed by the hundred volunteers transformed the space. The magic worked from the first steps, and the walls of the village hall, unrecognizable, transported the guests to another century. The volunteers, dressed in period costumes, brought this immersion to life with impressive attention to detail, from the white tunics of the villagers to the sumptuous dresses and doublets of the nobles.
The atmosphere was particularly warm, punctuated by the activities which captivated young and old. Dancers and acrobats paraded to cheers, while the choir, faithful to its period repertoire, delighted the ears of the guests. The Renaissance fashion show amazed the audience, and the equestrian show offered a particularly anticipated moment of grace.
