The Edmonton Oilers were in Vancouver yesterday to face the Canucks in game seven of their quarter-final series.

Edmonton won by a score of 3 to 2 to win the series and thus move on to the next round to face the Dallas Stars.

Obviously all the Oilers players were happy with the outcome of this series but we bet that Corey Perrywho was not in uniform and had been left out of the game, must have been particularly happy.

According to what the specialized site reports Puck Pediathe veteran forward received a $50,000 bonus while he ate popcorn in the stands since, as stipulated in his contract, this bonus would go to him if the team made it to the conference finals and he had played at least 50% of playoff games.

Have a nice little evening off anyway!

But that’s not all. There’s another bonus he negotiated into his contract when he signed with Edmonton at the end of the season: If the Oilers manage to reach the Stanley Cup final and he plays at least 50% of the games of the team’s playoffs, he will receive another $50,000.

Well done on his part when he negotiated with the DG Ken Holland.
