Following OL’s success against Strasbourg (2-1) and Lyon’s qualification for the Europa League, Saïd Benrahma looked back on his completely crazy season.

I couldn’t dream better than that, I come in the middle of the season, everything is going well, we finish 6th, I’m super happy” Said rejoiced Benrahma at the microphone of Free Ligue 1 Sunday. Arriving at the winter transfer window, around a transfer which almost never saw the light of day, Saïd Benrahma strengthened the OL group. In his old club that is West Ham, the striker did not accumulate a lot of playing time, with 1203 minutes played in 22 matches. Under the Lyon tunic, the Algerian international found stability by appearing in the starting eleven 12 times in 14 matches (957 minutes played). Said Benrahma had the ambition to contribute to the revival of the club and it was a successful bet. The Rhone club finally positioned itself in 6th place in the elite and will therefore play in the Europa League next season.

Said Benrahma was not always without reproaches, of course, but he established himself as an important element of the training created by Pierre Wise. Upon success against Strasbourg (2-1), the 28-year-old striker was one of the strong men of this meeting. Impacting on the left wing, Saïd Benrahma intelligently served Alexander Lacazette for the opening score (39th). The Algerian ends his six months at OL and in Ligue 1 with the record of 3 goals and 3 assists in 12 matches.

Following the last success in the league this season, he wanted to express his gratitude for OL, which allowed him to get back on track. “I wanted to thank everyone. It’s an incredible team, an incredible city, incredible fans. Everything that happens to us is incredible. What we are experiencing there, I have the impression that we can only experience it once“But the road is not yet finished. There is a Coupe de France final to be had against PSG in Lille. Saïd Benrahma and his family will challenge the Parisian ogre this Saturday, May 25 at Pierre Mauroy.
