Air Canada Vacations had the pleasure of traveling to the beautiful Hyatt Ziva/Zilara Cap Cana resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic last week to celebrate the achievements of its staff at its annual GEM Awards.
The GEM Awards, first launched in 2019, are peer-nominated awards to recognize employees who have demonstrated exceptional effort and achievement within the Air Canada Vacations organization.
GEM, an acronym for “Going the extra mile”, is Air Canada Vacations’ highest honor, recognizing staff in one of three categories: the Rubis Award for Outstanding Commitment to Excellence of service; the Diamond Award for bringing the company culture to life; and the Emerald Leadership Award.

The celebrations took place over four sunny days during which the GEM award winners had the chance to relax and recharge by swimming in the pure waters of Juanillo beach, enjoy gala dinners and take part in to fun activities including live performances and a traditional Dominican carnival.
Accompanied by members of the Air Canada Vacations leadership team, GEM Award winners had the opportunity to create new travel memories while experiencing legendary Hyatt hospitality and service .
