Hamas leader Yahya Sinouar killed in strike in Gaza – Le7tv.ma

Yahya Sinouar, the new leader of Hamas, a leading figure in the Islamist organization, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip. Israeli military sources confirm that an operation took place overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, targeting several Hamas positions, and three fighters were eliminated. Among them, the Israeli army confirmed this Thursday that one of the bodies is indeed that of Yahya Sinouar.

A photo circulating on social media shows the body of a man severely mutilated, sparking speculation about the identity of the victim. Some experts believe that the teeth visible in the photo could correspond to those of the Hamas leader, known to be one of the architects of the group’s military strategy, notably during the October 2023 attack on Israel.

The army also specifies that no hostages were present in the building during the strike. The operation, carried out in a context of escalating violence, marks a new chapter in the hunt for senior Hamas officials. Since the massive attack launched by the group against Israel on October 7, 2023, Yahya Sinouar had become one of the men most wanted by the Jewish state.

This strike represents a major blow to the Hamas leadership structure. Israel had declared for several months that it was committed to capturing or eliminating Sinwar, whose disappearance will be seen as a victory in the war against Hamas.
