(Article regularly updated) The Rhône and the Loire were placed on red “flood” alert by Météo France on Thursday October 17 in its midday bulletin. The two departments also remain placed on orange “rain-flood” vigilance. The Gier, a river which flows into the Rhône south of , has been placed on red flood alert, the Rhône prefecture said earlier in the morning.

– 112 interventions by firefighters at 12 p.m.

In a situation update at noon, the Rhône prefecture indicates that 112 interventions were carried out by firefighters, “mainly linked to flooding of premises”.
