Rekkles sets the record straight on G2, says KCorp and T1 saved it

Rekkles’ journey is atypical. The former LEC player now plays for South Korea in the T1 academy team (he is however present at the Worlds as a substitute for the first team) and spoke of the difficulties he crossed at G2 in 2021 and how the KC and T1 saved him.

Rekkles, G2, KCorp and T1: the story of the principal concerned

It did not escape anyone at the time, Rekkles was benched by G2 very quickly after his arrival at the end of 2020 and was, in the eyes of many observers, simply taken prisoner by his club. He was subsequently able to sign with Karmine Corp then wore the colors of Fnatic before joining T1 Academy training last December.

This Thursday, October 17 morning, he responded to a comment on X accusing him of having turned his back on Europe by leaving for South Korea, explaining to the author of the message that G2 had shown selfishness and that he had been saved by KCorp then later by T1, when he was on the Fnatic bench.

G2 not only benched me at the end of 2021, during the first year of my 3-year contract, but they also made sure I couldn’t go to any other LEC team for selfish (financial) reasons / easier competition). KC saved me and did everything they could to help me return to the LEC at the end of 2022 (managing the buyout if I agreed not to receive half my salary for this year).

FNC then decided to bench me after 4 months of my 2-year contract, trying to release me after a few weeks already (without succeeding before). The T1s have saved me once again and are doing everything they can to not only support me during a difficult time in my life, but also help me as much as possible to ensure that 2025 is a good year for Me.

The bad guys were/are in the area I “abandoned”.

Rekkleson

On the Faille side, while waiting for the next season, Rekkles is present at the Worlds as a substitute alongside Faker & co who will play their quarter-final this Saturday at 3 p.m. against the Chinese team Top Esports. The complete program and results can be found in our dedicated follow-up.
