“Stay at home, avoid traveling”… The municipality of Annonay has triggered its municipal protection plan after being placed on red alert by Météo France.

“Schools will be closed from 4 p.m. hours” over the entire department, announced Thursday October 17 on franceinfo Sophie Elizéon, prefect of Ardèche, while the department was placed on red alert for rain-flooding by Météo France.
The town of Annonay immediately took a series of measures, reports France Bleu Drôme Ardèche and triggered its municipal protection plan. Thus, all schools and nurseries were evacuated, parents had to pick up their children before 11 a.m. School and urban transport are at a standstill. Several public establishments have been closed: the media library, the theater and the Maison de la Musique. Motorists are prohibited from retrieving their vehicles parked in basements.
Several city streets are closed. The municipality defined a perimeter within which businesses had to close. Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution. “All city services are mobilized to ensure your safety and manage this crisis as best as possible. We remind you of the importance of staying at home as much as possible and avoiding travel”we can read in a press release.
