#VigilanceOrange Situation update at 4 p.m.: Suspension of #school transport for a large part of #Gard on Thursday October 17.
The Gard department is still placed on Orange alert for “Rain-flooding”, “Thunderstorms” and is moving to orange alert for “Floods”. The situation will continue tonight and throughout the day tomorrow, with high intensity from Thursday 12 p.m.

Taking into account the French weather forecast: sustained rain and flooding of rivers, the prefect, in consultation with the departmental director of national education services, has decided to suspend #school transport for tomorrow, Thursday October 17 over a large northern half of the department (see map).
All school transport that passes through an affected zone is canceled (even if it goes to or comes from an authorized zone).
However, for students who come to their schools or who are boarders, reception will be assured.

Cumulative amounts for Thursday could reach: 40 to 50 mm in the plains, locally 80 mm and 100 to 120 mm in the Cévennes.
The phenomenon should be mobile.

The Gardons of Anduze and Alès as well as the Cèze Amont are placed on orange RAW vigilance.
The other rivers in the department are placed on yellow FLOOD alert.
