Monaco, the vice-champion of France, had fun against Nantes (4-0) on Sunday evening at the end of Ligue 1.

In front of Prince Albert and the Russian billionaire president Dmitry Rybolovlev and in a Stade Louis-II where the Monegasque ultras, who were celebrating their 30th anniversary, were very numerous, active and festive, AS Monaco offered one last quality show: four goals, including a last one of great beauty by Eliesse Ben Seghir, all dribbling and speed (4-0, 61st).

Even with ten players absent, including many injured executives (Golovin, Jakobs, Zakaria, Embolo and Maripan), suspended (Akliouche), or put on the bench (Fofana, Singo, Minamino and Vanderson), the Monegasques quickly took the match on their own account.

Very quickly, Wissam Ben Yedder, at the end of his contract in June and for whom this could be the last match in the red and white colors, victoriously took over a good low cross from Krepin Diatta. He gave his team the advantage, scoring his 16th goal in the league, and his 118th goal for the club (1-0, 6th).

Driven by a very offensive 4-4-2, Monaco exploded Nantes’ five-man defense. And from set pieces, Adi Hütter’s men scored two new goals before the break.

On the first, Thilo Kehrer headed a free kick from the returning Caio Henrique (2-0, 10th). Victim of a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee on September 22 against Nice and operated on in Strasbourg on October 2, the Brazilian international started for the first time since his return to competition.

The second goal was scored on a penalty, following a grotesque foul by Nicolas Pallois on Ben Seghir. Ben Yedder, the usual striker, left it to Camara to hit and convert it.
