Gathered in congress this Wednesday, October 16 in Valence, the mayors of Drôme paid tribute to Senator Gilbert Bouchet (LR). Suffering from Charcot’s disease, a degenerative disease, the elected official from Drôme appeared in a wheelchair and fitted with a mask to breathe.
Marie-Pierre Mouton, the president (LR) of the Department first, then Nicolas Daragon (LR) then, welcomed his presence as well as his fight. Nicolas Daragon, vice-president of the Association of Mayors of Drôme and Minister for Daily Safety, was particularly moved when paying tribute to him.
The audience then stood up, applauding Senator Bouchet. The latter was still in the Senate the day before to defend better care for Charcot’s disease. Here again, the chamber welcomed his plea before voting on the law.
At the end of the congress, and after this standing ovation, Gilbert Bouchet was in tears. “It’s exceptional,” he told Dauphiné released. Also moved to have succeeded in having the law adopted in the Senate unanimously. “This is unheard of [à la Chambre haute, NDLR]. But look, I did my job. »
