Christian organizations postpone the ecumenical ceremony until the return of the head of state to Cameroonian territory.

The ecumenical prayer ceremony in favor of President Paul Biya and for peace in Cameroon announced for Thursday October 17, 2024 will no longer take place on this date. In a press release dated October 14, the president of the Collective of Alumni of Catholic Seminaries of Cameroon announced the postponement of this event to an unspecified later date. This date will be determined after the return to the national territory of the Head of State, indicates the press release.

The ceremony of interfaith prayers in question is organized on the initiative of the Collective of alumni of Catholic seminaries of Cameroon. According to the first press release announcing this event, other Christian organizations including the Catholic Men’s Association, the Union of Men Sons of , other Christian and Muslim communities, as well as their related religious associations are joining the collective. Religious dignitaries and senior public and private figures should also participate. The organizers planned that the ceremony would take place at the multipurpose sports palace.
