Serviès-en-Val. Flame: a historic day for schoolchildren

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are an opportunity for Grande section and CP students to work in class on the values of sport and the Olympic Games, on the origin of these sporting events and on the symbolism of the flame lit at Olympia.

This work found a sort of conclusion this Thursday, May 16 in the trip to Lagrasse to witness the passing of the flame.

Supported by the bus, the schoolchildren, their teacher Émilie Llopis and some parents, flags in hand, found a place along the route and witnessed the passing of the lit torch and the relay between the bearers. They were even able to have fun and pose for a souvenir photo with the Olympian Phogges, the official mascots.

In the afternoon, the children went to the stadium where they participated in the long run which is the completion of a running training cycle. This had been prepared since the start of the school year in February. Everyone successfully fulfilled the time contract for which they had committed. Everyone enjoyed the snack that followed.

There is no doubt that this day will remain engraved in everyone’s memory as a great experience and an excellent memory.
