Only the walls of this house remain, in Saint-Malo-des-Trois-Fontaines (Morbihan), after a fire which broke out around 5 a.m. | WEST FRANCE
A home was badly damaged in a fire, Tuesday October 15, 2024, in Saint-Malo-des-Trois-Fontaines (Morbihan), near Ploërmel (Morbihan). The roof was destroyed as well as the entire living area. The firefighters were alerted by the resident, who was awakened by the sudden heat. He was able to escape from the house.
An investigation has been opened
Around twenty firefighters intervened from the La Trinité-Porhoët, Campénéac, Ploërmel and Josselin barracks, under the responsibility of a group leader from Josselin. The fire was contained around 10 a.m. The Ploërmel gendarmerie also intervened and opened an investigation to determine the reasons for this fire. The resident was able to be relocated with relatives. He believed that this fire must have started from the chimney.
