Waltzes, polkas, mazurkas, line or round dances punctuate the entertainment program at Valentino, on Wednesday evenings from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the village hall. These traditional choreographies are danced in couples, groups or alone. “The Valentino offers dances that are said to be ancient, but which are still relevant today. And above all the Valentino rhymes with sharing and conviviality. On Wednesday evening the village village hall resonates with music, it is a moment of pleasure for the 90 dancers that we are”, explains Maryline Cassar, the president of this association for 18 years.
For two hours, women and men of all ages carefully follow the advice given by the passionate host. Geneviève, in the middle of the dance floor, directs and comments like an orchestra conductor, equipped with headphones and a microphone connected to the sound system. Then, to regain your strength, a tasting of cakes and drinks is offered.
The Valentino season begins each year at the end of September and ends non-stop at the end of April. The club offers other fun events. A ball, open to all, is planned to start 2025 off right, on Saturday January 4. It will be hosted by the Aveyron François Xavier orchestra. According to Maryline, “The Valentino is run by enthusiasts who pool all their know-how for the greatest pleasure of all during the various events, gastronomy, decorations, conviviality”. We can only wish many more good years to this club which already has 25 years of practice.
