MUNICIPAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS

N-Vaz won the elections in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw. The party obtained 16 seats out of 33, which is an increase of 5 seats. A first reaction from Mayor Jan Desmeth. “First of all, I would like to thank all candidates and voters from the other lists for the correct way in which they conducted the elections. Whether people voted for N-VA LvBurgemeester or for another list, I will be there for everyone with the board in the coming years.

“In 2012 and 2018 we were immediately the largest party. Since then we have continued to make further progress. It is nice to feel that more and more residents have confidence in the policy we pursue and in the plans we have for our municipality. It gives I feel grateful and I will make every effort over the next six years to further earn that trust. I will have the right of initiative in the next 14 days, as prescribed by the new decree to once again realize an ambitious program for Sint-Pieters-Leeuw. The population has largely chosen this.”
