Elke van den Brandt on mobility
Elke Van Den Brandt, Brussels Minister of Mobility and Public Works, expressed her concerns about the inclusion of Groen in the future Brussels government during her appearance on the morning show of LN Radio and LN24. She highlighted the importance of cars in Brussels while pleading for more walking, cycling and public transport in order to free up public space. She recalled her proposal to hold a monthly car-free day, highlighting the advantages for the city and the hospitality sector. Van Den Brandt criticizes French-speaking parties for not including Groen in discussions on crucial topics such as Good Move, low emission zones and reducing speed to 30 km/h. She calls for respect and inclusion for Groen to defend her agenda. Finally, she mentioned the ongoing negotiations regarding the LEZ and the role of Team Fouad Ahidar. Van Den Brandt is ready to accept a government without Groen if that is the choice of the French-speaking parties.
