A building fire occurred this Saturday, October 12 in Dreux, around 10 p.m. Forty-eight firefighters were mobilized to put out the flames.
Forty-eight firefighters from the centers of Dreux, Aunay-sous-Crécy, Houdan, Tremblay-les-Villages, Saint-Rémy-sur-Avre, Chartres, Voves and Maintenon intervened this Saturday, October 12, for a fire. building which occurred in Dreux, around 10 p.m., rue André-Faucher. Fifteen intervention vehicles were also engaged.

The firefighters, after carrying out reconnaissance actions, began to extinguish the flames. The fire broke out in the cellar of the building. A resident, seeing smoke coming out, alerted the firefighters. Smoke was beginning to fill the stairwell. A panicked lady on the first floor took refuge on her balcony. Yannick, a resident of the ground floor, says: “I was able to catch the two children from the balcony.”
A man suffered an epileptic seizure and was taken to hospital.

Firefighters checked the apartments to make sure no one was inside. The gas and electricity networks were cut. Sébastien Leroux, deputy mayor, is present on the scene.
The firefighter intervention ended around 10:15 p.m. The cellar fire was extinguished using an LDV 500 lance. A 44-year-old man was transported to the Garches hospital center (Hauts-de-Seine).
Ten people were also transported to the Dreux hospital center. Two people had to be rehoused by the family for the night, and fourteen other people were rehoused by the town hall, following the power cut in the building.
