Black Tea
Romantic drama

In Black TeaAbderrahmane Sissako immerses us in the story of Aya, a young Ivorian woman, and Cai, a Chinese tea merchant, who find themselves confronted with the complexity of cultural differences. Aya, after refusing an arranged marriage in Ivory Coast, goes into exile in China to seek a new life. There she meets Cai, a 45-year-old Chinese businessman, with whom she forms a deep relationship. However, their love will have to face the tumults of their pasts and societal prejudices.
The film addresses universal themes such as exile, cultural identity, and the quest for a harmonious life. Through the story of Aya and Cai, Black Tea illustrates the meeting between Africa and China, two continents which have historically interacted little on such a personal, social and economic level.

The Wild Robot
Film d’animation

The Wild Robot tells us the incredible adventure of Roz, a robotic unit of model ROZZUM 7134, which ends up on a deserted and unexplored island, populated only by wild animals. Designed to carry out tasks in an urban environment, Roz finds herself helpless in this new environment. Devoid of memories of her duties and her origin, she must learn to survive in this unforgiving world and to coexist with her new neighbors. Over time, Roz builds bonds with the animals of the island, notably with a small orphaned gosling, whom she raises as her own child.

Through this moving story, Chris Sanders addresses profound questions of humanity: empathy, adaptation to an unfamiliar environment, and the fragile balance between nature and technology. The Wild Robot celebrates difference and cooperation while offering a subtle reflection on our relationship with nature in a constantly evolving world.
