An agency specializing in luxury real estate is offering a Parisian apartment for sale at a price of 16 million euros. With a surface area of just over 200m², it therefore costs a gargantuan price of almost 80,000 euros per m². A sum that arouses astonishment given the reality of the market.

It is a good that is completely inaccessible to ordinary people. As spotted by -.fr, an apartment of just over 200m² was put up for sale in the 7th arrondissement of Paris for an absolutely astronomical sum of 16 million euros, or just over 75,000 euros per square meter. A colossal price for this district, certainly upscale, but whose average prices never reach such heights.

This apartment, presented by the Ménager/Hug agency as the most expensive per m² in the entire capital, is located near the Saint-Germain-dès-Prés church and the Bon Marché. It is housed in a neo-classical style building, built in 1765 and classified as a historic monument. In 1924, it served as a base camp for the surrealist art movement. Facing south and west, it guarantees almost permanent sunshine with its 13 windows and 3.85m ceiling height. The apartment has three bedrooms as well as Versailles parquet floors and an original fireplace. Without forgetting the long balcony, overlooking a green interior courtyard.

“It’s a classic bourgeois apartment”

A very beautiful property, but whose price still arouses the astonishment of Internet users. “I live in Saint-Germain-dès-Prés and this price is not at all realistic for this apartment. Especially with this very ugly view of these modern buildings. The garden is nothing special either,” writes the ‘one of them on Instagram. “Even Karl Lagerfeld’s apartment near the Seine was not sold at this price,” says another. The famous fashion designer’s 260m² home was sold at auction for 10 million euros.

So, are the 16 million euros claimed for this apartment in the 7th arrondissement justified? This luxury real estate specialist also has serious doubts. “In the sector, properties have been sold for around 30-35 or even 40,000 euros per m². On the other hand, on this specific apartment, given the services that I saw on video and the market, I don’t see why it would be worth 75,000 euros per m² It’s a classic bourgeois apartment, at an address which is probably one of the most expensive in Paris, but when you reach 45,000 euros per m², it’s already exceptional”, he underlines. -he with Europe 1. Contacted, the Ménager/Hug agency did not wish to comment.
