URGENT – Algeria: Morocco finally abandons its controversy card!

Algeria Football – Morocco finally abandons its controversial geographical map and will wear a jersey without it against Algeria…

The Moroccan women’s national under-17 football team has chosen to remove the fictitious card from its jersey. Tonight, they will face the Algerian women’s national under-17 team in the third round of World Cup qualifying, with no political logos or fictitious cards on their kits.

The girls of the Algerian national team completed full training on the field adjacent to their place of residence, demonstrating total commitment. The Algerian Football Federation warned FIFA over the match, saying Algeria would withdraw if Morocco persisted in using the fictitious map.

This situation prompted a request for intervention from the FAF to FIFA to ensure that politics was excluded from the match between the under-17 women’s teams of Algeria and Morocco. The Moroccan women’s national under-17 team earned their place in the third round of qualifying for the 2024 World Cup after a victory in the second leg against Benin on penalties.

Although Morocco initially lost the first leg against Benin, a draw allowed the teams to go to penalties, where Algeria was ultimately victorious. This case highlights the importance of sport as a platform for expression and competition, transcending political and cultural boundaries to celebrate the talent and effort of athletes.
