Millau. A 69-year-old man dies in a paragliding accident at the Pouncho site

A paraglider lost his life after crashing in Millau (Aveyron), Thursday May 9, 2024. Aged 69, the victim fell in a steep place just a few minutes after takeoff, reports “La Dépêche du Midi”.

A tragic accident occurred on Thursday May 9, 2024 on the Pouncho site, in Millau (Aveyron). According to La Dépêche du Midi it was around 3 p.m. when a 69-year-old paraglider crashed a few minutes after taking off.

It was firefighters from the Reconnaissance and Intervention Group in Perilous Environments (Grimp) who intervened in this steep and difficult to access location.

Victim dies while being transported to hospital

Transported by helicopter to the Montpellier hospital center (Hérault), the victim died of cardiorespiratory arrest during transport. She was a member of the Neuilly-Plaisance paragliding club (Hauts-de-Seine).
