While Microsoft and Xbox are currently in the spotlight following the announcement of the closure of four studios, Sarah Bond spoke publicly to address several subjects, including the question of the arrival of Activision day one games in Xbox Game Pass, which didn’t seem like a certainty until now.

“All the games we create come to Game Pass day one”

Indeed, debates on the arrival of the next Activision games, and in particular Call of Duty, directly in the Xbox Game Pass would take place internally; with some fearing that the revenue Call of Duty usually generates for Activision Blizzard could be undercut by Microsoft’s service.

Guest of the Bloomberg Tech show, hosted by Dina Ross, the president of Xbox was questioned on the question of the identity of the Xbox for fans of the brand, and recalled that “all the games we create arrive today one in Game Pass”:

We know our core users love Game Pass, it’s a gaming subscription, you get a whole portfolio of games, but most importantly, all the games we create come day one in Game Pass. And the quality and breadth of these games have only increased over time. Over the course of the year, you’ll see other very important games coming to Game Pass.”

When asked if this also includes games from Activision’s portfolio, she replied:

Across the entire spectrum, across the entire spectrum, you’re going to see some really amazing things. And it’s essential to us that this remains something truly special for Xbox gamers.

Logically, we should therefore be entitled to the release of the next Call of Duty directly in the service at the end of the year.

Let us note, however, that Microsoft’s “promises” should be taken with a grain of salt, since as we saw in our recent article, the company has proven its contradictions on numerous occasions.

Moreover, the latest rumor suggests that the price of Xbox Game Pass could increase further, even though Phil Spencer had assured that this would not be the case after the acquisition of Activision.
