MISCELLANEOUS. Farnham was the scene of a violent accident late in the morning near the fire station.
The collision between a small car and an 18-wheel truck occurred around 11:30 a.m., on Route 104, outside the 50 km zone.
The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Montreal hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured, but apparently suffered a nervous shock.
The road was closed for several hours to allow police officers to reconstruct the scene of the accident, then to establish the causes and circumstances of this head-on collision.
“Alcohol is not the cause, nor is the temperature. We cannot rule out the possibility that discomfort could be the cause of the accident, but that remains to be verified,” indicates Philippe Morin, director of the Brome-Missisquoi SQ station.
