Major fire: a 4th alarm on Saint-François Street East in Quebec

A major fire broke out at the end of the day on Saint-François Street East, in Quebec.

The fire started in a two-story residential building, not far from the intersection of Langelier Boulevard.

Due to the age and proximity of the buildings in Saint-Roch, the firefighters sounded a fourth alarm. The evacuation of the occupants did not cause any problems.

Even though the fire did not cause any injuries, the firefighters worked tirelessly on the roof and inside to prevent it from spreading.

Load shedding was necessary in the area. A mother and her children received help from civil security. Due to the damage, they will not be able to return to their accommodation.

The cause of the blaze remains to be determined, but an investigator from the Quebec City Fire Commissioner was on the scene.

After an intense effort, a firefighter suffered a brief bout of discomfort, but he quickly came to his senses.
