The science fiction scenario where an alien worm takes control of the brain of the most powerful head of state on the planet is not far away. As the US presidential campaign gathers pace, the New York Times revealed this Wednesday that Robert Kennedy Jr, nephew of the assassinated president “JFK”, and independent candidate for the White House, had had his brain partly eaten away by a worm which had been at ease there before perishing there .

This extremely rare health problem was contracted in 2012 during a trip “to Africa, South America or Asia” and appears in his divorce file, which the American newspaper was able to consult. And the consequences are obvious: the US presidential candidate explained that he was experiencing “obvious cognitive problems”, as well as “long-term and short-term memory loss”.

The candidate’s entourage, however, wanted to put this affliction into perspective, with regard to the physical or mental health of his competitors, Joe Biden and Donald Trump. The nephew of “JFK” remains an independent candidate in the presidential election in November.
