Jason Holton, considered “the heaviest man” of Britain, died of organ failure just a week before his 34th birthday, his family said.

Jason Holton is no more. The man who became famous in 2020 after a rescue operation at his home died on April 27, 2024. Due to his weight of around 320 kg, the man became unable to walk and his organs gradually stopped functioning.

The condition of Jason Holton, who was preparing to celebrate his 34th birthday, has seriously deteriorated recently. Six firefighters had to transport him to Royal Surrey County Hospital after an ambulance ride, his mother, Leisa, said, according to a media report.

She revealed that her son’s kidneys were the first organs to stop functioning, and doctors sadly announced that he only had a week to live. “ He probably had eight lives and I thought the doctors would be able to save him again, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible.“, said the distressed mother.

Holton’s life journey was marked by struggles with morbid obesity and its devastating consequences. Having started overeating as a teenager following the death of his father, he is said to have consumed up to 10,000 calories a day, including kebabs for breakfast.

His life had become gradually confined to a specially adapted municipal bungalow, where reinforced furniture had been installed for his comfort. Toward the end of his life, Holton was bedridden, immobile, and suffered from severe breathing problems.

In 2020, a harrowing incident impacted Holton’s life when he had to be rescued by a team of more than 30 firefighters, requiring the use of a crane to be evacuated from his third-floor apartment.
