American mega-star Taylor Swift kicks off her European tour this Thursday, May 9 in Paris. She will then be in concert in Lyon, Madrid, London and Munich.
“We traveled more than 24 hours. We took two planes, a train.” Taylor Swift fans will meet Thursday, May 9 in the evening at Paris La Défense Arena for the launch of the mega-star’s tour on the Old Continent.
At the foot of the largest hall in Europe, the most diligent have been camping for several days in around twenty tents. They prepare pasta with a stove and play guitar while waiting for the concerts to start.
“As long as we’re in front of the stage, that suits us. We love camping. It’s like a free hotel,” one of these fans, Guillermo, told BFMTV. “We’re having fun,” adds Sarah, who accompanies him.
“The greatest artist”
“I think she’s the greatest artist. We’re going to have a great experience. It’s going to be very special,” Guillermo enthuses again. He’s not the only one with stars in his eyes. Many fans came from all over the world.
“We come specially for this concert and we are very happy,” explains an American fan. “We’re from Florida,” adds another. “On Christmas Day, there was a letter saying ‘a ticket to the Taylor Swift concert in Paris’.”
Lucrative tour
Other fans have queued for several hours in recent days to collect the book intended for VIP seat holders or buy souvenirs, t-shirts, sweatshirts, water bottles or bracelets.
Aware of the public’s impatience and its appetite for derivative products, Paris La Défense Arena will open its doors from 3:30 p.m. for VIPs and has doubled its points of sale. The concert starts at 8 p.m.
The sixth tour of the Personality of the Year 2023, according to Time magazine, began in March of the same year in the United States. Called “The Eras Tour”, it is the first in history to sell more than a billion dollars in tickets.
