This week, gasoline and diesel prices are stabilizing in France. Compared to Wednesday, a slight decline was even noted when going to the pump, in particular for motorists who use diesel.

For this Wednesday, May 8, unleaded 98 is displayed at an average price of 1.982 euros per liter by the specialized site Carburants.org, a price which remains below the 2 euros mark, a threshold which was exceeded at the start of month. Still according to the same Source, unleaded 95 is sold this Thursday at 1.910 euros per liter. Here too, the price remains around 1.9 euros after having been around 2 euros at the end of April. As for E10 and E85, the prices displayed this Thursday are respectively 1.897 and 0.889 euros per liter.

Regarding diesel, it is still below the 1.8 euro per liter mark over the Ascension long weekend. This Thursday, diesel is offered at an average price of 1.741 euros per liter, according to the Carburants.org website, a drop of more than one euro cent compared to the average price recorded on Wednesday. Compared to last month, the drop is even more significant, at almost 5%.

The stations that offer the best fuel prices

As for the stations which offer the best prices in France, for SP98, it is the Système U station – Thouaré-Sur-Loire (44470) which offers the best national price, i.e. 1.875 euros per liter. As for diesel, the cheapest price is 1.658 euros per liter, and it is offered at the Leclerc station located in Lanester in 56.

As the first decade of May ends on Friday, gasoline and diesel prices are stabilizing at levels significantly lower than those recorded at the end of last month and the beginning of the current one. It must be said that at the same time, the prices of black gold have also suffered a series of declines, prices which directly influence those of fuels in France.

This Thursday, the barrel of Brent from the North Sea was sold at 84.07 dollars, the latter gaining a few euros compared to Wednesday, but still remains far from the threshold of 90 dollars. As for the barrel of West Texas Intermediate (WTI), it is once again approaching the threshold of 80 dollars, standing at 79.52 dollars per barrel.
