The septuagenarian had received considerable media support in a few days following his testimony in Julien Courbet’s show “It can happen to you”. He will finally be able to return to live in his house.

It’s almost the end of a very long ordeal for Yves, 78 years old. This resident of Villeneuve-lès-Sablons, in Oise, lived in total precariousness for more than a year and a half, after being kicked out of his house by his own son. He will finally regain access, thanks in particular to the intervention of the team from “It can happen to you”, presented by Julien Courbet on M6 and RTL.

The story began in 2019, when Yves wanted to be of service to his son Cyril and his family (a wife and two children), who had just been evicted from their social housing for unpaid rent, as reported last week the show’s journalist, Pascal Normand. The family was only supposed to stay three months, but three years later, they are still there, and after an argument between the son and the father, the latter decides to go for some fresh air. When he returns, he finds the door closed, and ends up sleeping in his car.

The next day, the locks were changed, says Yves. Little by little, the house becomes more and more impenetrable for the septuagenarian. Installation of a code, surveillance cameras, presence of numerous guard dogs… Town hall, gendarmerie, prefecture, no one does anything, and Yves finds himself sleeping in his car, sometimes in -10°C, for 19 months, before sending a handwritten letter to Julien Courbet, and receiving help from his team.

On May 1, the show dedicated to him is broadcast, a prize pool is launched, Yves appears on Cyril Hanouna’s set in TPMP. Thanks to a great show of solidarity, the retiree has enough to afford around fifteen nights in a hotel. Until Monday, May 6, when Yves was finally able to recover the keys to his house, as the newspaper recounts. Oise Hebdo.

His son and his family left, even if Cyril left behind a rather malicious message towards his father, indicating in particular that three guard dogs – “not the nicest” – remained behind. The house would be in a state of excessive disrepair, but that doesn’t matter, since Yves can always count on the solidarity of everyone to help him.

He notably benefited from a first helping hand for his relocation, with the Vival brand of the Casino group, which offered him groceries to fill his fridge. There is no doubt that the momentum of general solidarity will not stop there.
