On Monday, a police sergeant from the Plaines-des-Papayes police station reported a fatal accident in the compound ofEastern Stone Crusher Ltdlocated on the Branch Road, in Fond-du-Sac. Suttish Tulsi, aged 46 and living in Laventure, was trapped between a wall and his truck. He had injuries all over his body and was unconscious.
A SAMU doctor examined him and found Suttish Tulsi dead. On the instructions of forensic pathologist Dr Chamane, the body was taken to Dr AG Jeetoo Hospital for post-mortem, which attributed the death to shock and multiple fractures. The body was handed over to relatives. No independent witnesses came forward.
Suttish Tulsi was the owner of a truck and he was self-employed. As usual, he had gone to the company for several material shopping trips that day. After unloading his goods on the last trip, he got out of the truck to check for stones in the tires as a safety precaution, but the truck started to go downhill. He ran behind it and was able to get closer to the tire when he found himself stuck against a wall while he was on the driver’s side. He died on the spot. The truck continued to drive until it stopped against another wall opposite. According to our Source, Suttish Tulsi was a hard worker and a good person. The Plaine-des-Papayes police opened an investigation.
