After the explosion this Wednesday morning, in Puilboreau, near La Rochelle, who injured one person seriously, and two more lightly, 36 people found themselves without housing. But fortunately, the headache didn’t last long. The town hall has provided four gîtes located in La Tourtillère and the owner of the Le Beaulieu campsite has provided five or six mobile homes.
“The campsite director did not hesitate”
A true gesture of solidarity, “a nice gesture” according to Marcel Truchot, the deputy mayor of the town in charge of housing: “It is a very good thing at the start of the big weekend.” Marcel Truchot insisted: “The director of the campsite did not hesitate. She told me that there were more than 100 holidaymakers arriving today, but that it was logical, normal to also welcome the victims of the explosion.
“As you can see”, pursued the chosen one in front of the rubble, “No one will be able to be relocated here immediately.” But the firefighters could accompany residents to collect their belongings, or even pets. “There’s another rabbit in a car, I think”, said Marcel Truchot.
This Wednesday, around 4:30 a.m., an explosion took place in an HLM building in Puilboreau, completely destroying a home and causing major damage to the surrounding area. A person was seriously injured, amputated and transported to Poitiers University Hospital, his vital prognosis was in jeopardy this Wednesday. Two other people were more lightly affected. The windows of the senior residence across the street from the explosion were blown out, but no staff or residents were injured.
