Courbevoie: a motorist kills a pedestrian and flees

Despite the shock and his victim collapsing, he did not stop. Having just hit a pedestrian, a motorist was guilty of a hit-and-run this Tuesday, late afternoon, in the streets of Courbevoie.

The motorist was driving a Range Rover vehicle on Boulevard Saint-Denis, an axis parallel to the Quai de Seine which runs alongside Bécon Park. In circumstances which remain to be determined, the latter collided head-on with a pedestrian who, according to a police Source, was crossing “on a protected crossing. »

Under the violence of the shock, he was thrown into the air before falling back onto the sidewalk. For reasons which, again, remain to be clarified, the motorist – who according to several testimonies published on social networks, was traveling at very high speed – did not stop to help the pedestrian he had just hit.

The car was not stolen

Under the gaze of several witnesses, the driver of the 4X4 continued his journey without lifting his foot. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the victim, a 53-year-old man treated by Samu doctors, died on the spot from cardio-respiratory arrest.

A few hours after the incident, the Range Rover – which according to our information, had not been reported stolen – was found by the police, empty of any occupants, a few kilometers from the scene of the accident. An investigation, entrusted to the Courbevoie police station, was opened. The investigations will aim to determine the precise circumstances of this tragic accident and to find out who was at the wheel of the Range Rover.
