It is a day that will remain in the memories of the residents of the nursing home. For a little over a year, the teams had been working to set up an event whose project was to ride the dynamic of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and Para Olympic Games.
With the sun giving them the honor of being present throughout the day, the twelve teams, each made up of six people with disabilities and two third-year middle school students from the Sacré-Cœur college in Saint-Chély , took part in sporting events: orienteering, kin-ball, giant parachute, motor relay course, pétanque, boccia, archery and blowgun…
The competitive spirit was very present, but the result obtained was much greater than any victory: the conviviality, sharing, joy, exchanges between residents and college students, in fact, made this day incredible .
The establishment would like to highlight the participation of the thirty-seven middle school students who demonstrated a lot of maturity and kindness. The meetings between young people and people with disabilities proved to be very rich as they were full of respect and solidarity.
A wonderful moment of inclusion. Perhaps vocations were born? To close this moment, after the presentation of the trophies and a well-deserved snack, the professionals from the establishments challenged the professionals from the other establishments to tug of war. The time had come to part ways. Eyes a little damp, bodies tired, but already impatient to repeat this great experience.
