Saint-Georges-du-Bois. A day dedicated to sport at school

Monday, the teaching team at the Trompe-Souris nursery and elementary school in Saint-Georges-du-Bois organized a sports day echoing the establishment’s annual project which is sport and well-being.

Groups of around twelve students of different levels ranging from small section to CM2 discovered or rediscovered different sports in the form of 20-minute workshops throughout the day. The young athletes were able to practice zumba, athletics with the relay, hockey, pétanque, wrestling and sitting volleyball which allowed them to become aware of disabled sports.

This is the first time we have organized a sports day at our school and the students are enthusiastic. They particularly appreciate being in a group with other levels,” indicates Yvan Dorangeon, director of the school. The various sports were able to be practiced thanks to the loan of equipment from EPS trunks which the establishment benefits from as part of its affiliation with Usep (Sports Union for Primary Education). This day is a continuation of the school’s educational project which has organized specific sporting activities throughout the year such as horse riding for kindergarten, ice skating and fencing for elementary school.

In addition to the teachers, the students were accompanied by around fifteen parents and three European volunteers, Simone, Cathrin, and Candela. Arriving from Italy, Germany and Spain, they are staying in France as part of their civic service carried out in partnership with La Maison de l’Europe in Le Mans.
