Ariana Grande closed the 2024 Met Gala with a grandiose performance

Ariana Grande was definitely one of the key faces of the Met Gala 2024. To top off the evening, whose theme was Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashionin honor of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s latest Costume Institute exhibition, Ariana Grande And Cynthia Erivohis co-star in the highly anticipated film Wickedwere the surprise artists of this enchanting edition.

In front of the Temple of Dendur, in the middle of a lush, sylvan-inspired decor designed by Derek McKlane, Ariana Grande kicked off the evening solo, wearing an outfit Maison Margiela of John Galliano. A radical change from her look on the red carpet: a dress Loewe white with a beautifully sculpted bodice. The artist’s silhouette consisted of several layers: beneath a gossamer off-white crinoline, worn over a diaphanous organdy blouse embroidered with lace, was a green tulle dress draped with rosettes, gold dust sprayed at hand and embroidered crystals, all embellished with a bodysuit and a corset in pastel tones. At the feet, Ariana Grande wore the emblematic Tabis hand painted by Christian Louboutin For Maison Margiela. In terms of beauty, it’s Mimi Cuttrell And Alyx Liu who were in charge of the hair, while the makeup was done by Michael Anthony and the nails by Daniel Taverez For NailGlam.

Ariana Grande’s incredible performance at the 2024 Met Gala

For his performance, Ariana Grande performed some of his biggest hits: “Into You” from Dangerous Woman, “Seven Rings” by Thank U, Next, and “The Boy Is Mine”, “We Can’t Be Friends” and “Yes, And” from his latest album, Eternal Sunshine. There were many nods to fairy tales: his concert notably began, in a completely charming manner, with a rendition of “Once Upon a Dream”, taken from the 1959 Disney classic, The Sleeping Beauty. The singer was surrounded by 30 dancers, as well as members of the Broadway Inspirational Voices choir, made up of 40 people. Michael ArdenTony winner for Parade in 2023, provided the staging.

For the finale of the show, Cynthia Erivo joined Ariana Grande on stage for a duet of “When You Believe”, a song made famous in 1998 by two other honey-voiced divas: Mariah Carey And Whitney Houston. For its part, Cynthia Erivo wore a pink houndstooth jacquard dress with exaggerated hips, from the fall-winter 2013-2014 collection Tom Browne. His styling was signed Jason Boldenmakeup Sam Finenails Rose Hackle and the hairstyle Nai’vasha. Enough to end the evening in style!
