Stormy Daniels hates Donald Trump. She would be happy if he was sentenced to prison. She hopes she never has to pay back the half-million dollars she owes him after a California judge’s decision to dismiss the defamation suit she filed against him. These are some of the confessions that Susan Necheles, Donald Trump’s lawyer, extracted from the former porn actress during a fierce cross-examination which will continue on Thursday.
During this early cross-examination, Daniels provided several other answers that call into question not only her credibility but also the reason why she is at the heart of the criminal trial that the former president is undergoing in New York, where he is accused of falsifying business documents to conceal a $130,000 payment to Daniels.
“That story made you a lot of money, didn’t it?” asked Necheles.
“She also cost me a lot of money,” responded Daniels, who has repeatedly been confronted with past statements that made her seem like a liar or a scammer.
She also contradicted herself several times. An example: After saying she was motivated by fear rather than profit when she signed a nondisclosure agreement with Michael Cohen, she said, “If I had the chance to publish the story and make money, then yes. »
That said, none of Daniels’ embarrassing responses to Necheles’ questions were about the account she gave earlier in the day about her alleged sexual encounter with Trump in July 2006 in a Lake Tahoe hotel suite.

In telling this story, Stormy Daniels provided details that upset Trump and his lawyers, as well as Judge Juan Merchan, to a lesser extent. She notably remembered that Trump was not wearing a condom when he took her briefly in the missionary position. While denying she was physically or verbally threatened by Trump, she claimed their height difference played into her decision to give in to his demands.

Invited to dinner with Donald Trump, Stormy Daniels said she followed him with the vague hope of advancing her career. When informed, his publicist told him, according to his testimony: “It will make a great story. He’s a businessman. What could go wrong? »
The prosecution had little choice in calling Stormy Daniels to the stand. His testimony is not expected to have a decisive effect on the jurors’ decision. But his cross-examination gives an idea of the bad time that Cohen, the central witness of this trial, will experience.
