Tuesday May 7, the parliamentary commission of inquiry into television frequencies adopted the report presented by LFI deputy Aurélien Saintoul, reports AFP. The elected representatives of the presidential majority had requested the withdrawal of certain proposals, after having judged them to be too anti-CNews or anti-C8, or even simply irrelevant. For Aurélien Saintoul, it was a “ blackmail » and a “ attempted censorship “.

According to information from LCP, the adopted report was accompanied by the statement specifying that 9 of the 47 proposals only engaged the LFI deputy. This mention was demanded by the deputy Quentin Bataillon (Renaissance) and by the presidential majority.

“An indictment more than a question”

During the hearings of the commission of inquiry, Serge Nedjar, the director of the CNews channel, remarked: “ It’s an indictment more than a question ”, after the rapporteur asked him the following question: “ Do you condemn the assassination of Palestinian journalists and the censorship of the Israeli government? »

The commission of inquiry, on the assignment, content and control of authorizations ”, was even criticized by deputies for having indulged in asking questions that were too far from the main subject, namely TNT. It could be seen as a trial against the channels that disturb La France insoumise.
