This new show takes place on Tuesday from 9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the J4 esplanade, on the eve of Belem’s arrival in the Marseille city.
A new appetizer before tackling the Olympic menu. A show bringing together 800 drones will enchant the skies of Marseille, Tuesday May 7 from 9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the eve of the arrival of the Olympic flame, Wednesday aboard the Belem. This new show, which comes a few days after a previous show last Friday, is centered “around a dreamlike story of the crossing of Belem and its arrival in the territory” and will take place on the J4 esplanade.
“It’s the same technical process [que le précédent spectacle]but history changes”, details the Bouches-du-Rhône department, organizer of the event with the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis. An event which brought together nearly 20,000 people last Friday.
And to accompany this new event, before two days of festivities which will ignite the Marseille city, this show will be preceded by sporting and cultural events from 6 p.m. and a free concert by Patrick Fiori begins at 8:50 p.m.
New activities that are raising the temperature in Marseille as the city prepares to welcome the Olympic flame with the program for these two days of Wednesday and Thursday numerous activities such as nautical parades in the harbor, relays in emblematic places of the city, all led by famous flame bearers (Didier Drogba, Redouane Bougheraba, Nicole Ferroni, Jean-Pierre Papin…) but also anonymous people who wish to carry a message.
An event which will also be supervised by an important security system and numerous traffic and parking restrictions which will affect the city during these two days of festivities. The flame will then continue its journey in France by circulating in the Var on Friday before igniting other departments.
