►►► The Cannes Film Festival is, in the world, one of the most important events dedicated to cinema. In addition to the Palme d’Or, it is marked by several recurring symbols such as the rise of the steps of the Palais des Festivals, the stars on the beach or at the organized parties… Its 77th edition will be, as always, special.

► This year, Greta Gerwig is the President of the Jury of the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival:

After a year 2023 where she will have broken all records with her film barbiethe American filmmaker, screenwriter and actress Greta Gerwig will chair the Jury of the 77th Cannes Film Festival

First American filmmaker to take on the role of President of the Jury of the Cannes Film Festival, Greta Gerwig adds new records to her already well-stocked list at 40 years old: she becomes the youngest person to occupy this position after Sofia Loren who was only 31 years old in 1966, the second female director after Jane Campion in 2014 ; the second American after the actress Olivia de Havilandfirst woman President of the Jury in 1965.
