France is about to welcome a new SVOD service that will take on Netflix and Disney+. The Max service (formerly HBO Max) is coming in June.

The date is now to be marked on the calendar, we know when the Max service arrives in France. This is the new platform developed by HBO and Warner Bros Discovery, which promises to be rich in quality content.

When will Max be available?

We can now read it on the official website of the platform, Max will be available from from June 11, 2024. Until now, the service had only promised a launch before the opening of the Olympics in July.

This launch will take place a few weeks after the first European countries such as Spain or Portugal which will be able to access it from May 21, 2024.

What content will be offered on Max?

Doubt still persisted over the exact content of the Max service in France, due to the rights already negotiated with OCS, but also the existence of the Warner pass for Amazon Prime.

Among the major franchises available on the platform, we can mention:

  • the Harry Potter saga;
  • The Last Of Us;
  • True Detective Night Country;
  • The Curious Case of Natalia Grace;
  • House of Dragon;
  • Teen Titans Go! ;
  • The Amazing World of Gumball.

What will the price of Max be in France?

Remember that the Warner Pass offered as an option with Amazon Prime is billed at 9.99 euros per month to access the audiovisual giant’s content.

We now know that several levels of subscriptions will be offered:

  • Basic with ads at 5.99 euros per month
  • Standard at 9.99 euros per month
  • Premium at 13.99 euros per month

The first two subscription levels will offer streaming on 2 devices simultaneously and access to a Full HD stream.

The premium plan will extend this limit to 4 devices with a 4K stream and Dolby Atmos, when available.

To this will be added an optional Sport package, at 5 euros per month. This package allows you to follow events such as the US Open, the Paris 2024 Olympics, or the Tour de France through the Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 channels.
