Actor Brik Van Dyck has died at the age of 52 from cancer. Theater company De Sven De Ridder Company, of which Van Dyck was an important part, announces the unfortunate news. He was known for TV series such as ‘Fair Trade’ and ‘Familie’.

As an actor, Brik Van Dyck mainly performed on stage in the theater. The born Antwerp native was Sven De Ridder’s partner in crime. Together with De Sven De Ridder Company she played numerous comedies, including the recent one Prison party. In total, Van Dyck appeared in almost 500 performances.

He also performed some on-screen roles. He appeared in VTM series such as Fair Trade and in the popular soap opera Family.

But he also contributed behind the scenes as a screenwriter and did final editing of various programs. The Antwerp native also wrote texts for radio and television shows, among others The just judges in Up against the stars.

Van Dyck lost the battle against cancer. He was barely 52 years old. He leaves behind two daughters (Lena and Sam) and his life partner Anik.
