Dries Mertens scored his 4th goal of the season during Galatasaray’s trip to Latvia, at RFS. The Turks were, however, held in check (2-2), as part of the 2nd day of the Europa League.
Mertens launched his team perfectly with a goal in the 12th minute, after which Yunus Akgun (38th) doubled the gap. The Latvians managed to score a goal before half-time via Janis Ikaunieks (40th), who turned into a passer after the break to offer the equalizer to Lasha Odisharia (55th). Michy Batshuayi then entered the game (64th), but he failed to restore the lead to the Gala. Mertens left the pitch in the 86th minute.
Mika Godts started with Ajax, who broke their teeth visiting Slavia Prague (67th). Branco van den Boomen had nevertheless opened the scoring on a penalty in favor of Ajacides (18th). In the 67th minute, the match changed with the equalizer signed by Tomas Chory, followed in the 75th by the exclusion of Youri Baas for two yellow cards. Godts had meanwhile been replaced (56th). Jorthy Mokio was not part of the Ajacide group.
