Thanks to donations made after the death of the Radio journalist from cholangiocarcinoma, her loved ones announced this Friday, April 4, the upcoming funding of theses to progress in the fight against this type of cancer.

The battle continues. Relatives of the journalist Clémentine Vergnaud, who died in December of a rare form of bile duct cancer, announced the launch of a grant intended to finance research against this disease, this Friday, October 4 on France Info, radio where the 31-year-old young woman worked. She was also the author of the podcast My life facing cancer, of which a book adaptation is coming out this Friday, Clementine’s Diary (edition of Seuil).

Applicants for this scholarship will be able to start applying on February 6, 2025, which coincides with the Immunity and Cancer Scientific Days. “The subject is as open as possible, but it will be a thesis on cholangiocarcinoma or, in any case, cancers of the bile ducts”specifies to public radio Grégoire Lecalot, husband of Clémentine Vergnaud and also a journalist at France Info.

The winner will be chosen following a meeting at “summer” 2025, with the Association for the Study of Cancers and Bile Tract Diseases (Acabi), before the start of funding “in November”develops the journalist’s husband.

The initiative will be financed thanks to donations made to the Clémentine Vergnaud Fund against cholangiocarcinoma, as well as from the fund created in her name. To date, 130,000 euros have been raised. The amount should, however, continue to grow, with the payment of all profits linked to sales of the book Clementine’s Diary. Enough to give Clémentine Vergnaud’s loved ones hope for funding “a thesis every two years” to fight against cancer.
